Shafi Ahmed (United Kingdom)

Prof Shafi Ahmed is a multi-award winning cancer surgeon working at The Royal London Hospital. He has been given the accolade of the worlds most watched surgeon as has streamed live operations using virtual reality, social media and television for which he was shortlisted for a BAFTA award in 2019. He was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2020 for his humanitarian work and global surgical education. Former member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England Council where he led the global health programme, he also worked as an advisor to the Abu Dhabi government for digital transformation of health and innovation. He has set up surgical education programmes in over 20 countries including conflict zones. He delivered over 250 keynotes in over 30 countries and his work has been featured in over 400 newspapers and mainstream TV news channels.




Edward Lemaire (Canada)

Prof Edward Lemaire is actively involved with research on technologies that improve mobility for people with physical disabilities. He is a Professor at the University of Ottawa Faculty of Medicine, Adjunct Professor in Mechanical Engineering, Human Kinetics, Health Sciences, and Systems Design Engineering and Investigator with The Ottawa Hospital Research Institute’s Centre for Rehabilitation Research and Development. He is also Past President of the International Society of Prosthetics and Orthotics. His research has resulted in over 575 published papers and presentations that include intelligent prosthetics and orthotics, biomechanical movement analysis in 3D virtual environments, smartphone and artificial intelligence approaches to improve decision-making, and eHealth technology to enhance access to education and rehabilitation services.




Michael Millis (United States)

Prof Michael B. Millis is Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Harvard Medical School and holds the Oberg Family Chair at Boston Children's Hospital. He graduated from Harvard Medical School and did orthopaedic specialisation in the Harvard Orthopaedic Residency Program. He was an AO fellow in hip joint preservation with Prof Heinz Wagner in Germany. Through the years Prof Millis has acquired a unique amount of experience in hip preservation and profound knowledge of hip diseases in childhood and the young adult. He emerged as a global leader in the development of treatment algorithms, advanced surgical techniques and the teaching of educational concepts. He is the founding Director of the Adolescent/Young Adult Hip Unit at Boston Children’s Hospital. his academic work spans several hundred publications and received numerous international awards.
