Vaibhav Bagaria (India)

The Man and the Machine: How & Why Robotics is impacting the way we do our Knee Arthroplasties?

Dr Vaibhav Bagaria is the Director of Orthopaedics at Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital in Mumbai. He has over 20 years of experience in orthopaedics and is recognised globally as a thought leader, academician, and innovator. He completed his MS in Orthopaedics from KEM Hospital in Mumbai and undertook fellowships at various centres of excellence around the world. He is a pioneer in robotic knee replacement, artificial intelligence, cartilage regeneration, and 3D printing. He is also responsible for incubating India’s first private tissue bank in Mumbai, and has facilitated numerous collaborations between engineering colleges, medical institutions, and industry to translate research into the clinical arena. He has received several awards and distinctions, including being the first Indian to top the SICOT Diploma Examination. His research focuses on optimising technology in arthroplasty and enabling its rational use worldwide. He continues to mentor graduate students, orthopaedic residents, and fellows and is an active teacher with the national board.



Francesco Falez (Italy)

Hip-Spine relationship in primary and revision THA: When do we need to use a robot or a dual mobility implant?

Prof Francesco Falez is a distinguished expert in the field of hip implants. After enrolling and graduating with honours from the Faculty of Medicine 'La Sapienza' University, in Rome and completed his residency in Orthopaedic surgery and in Sports Medicine. Over the years, he practiced foot surgery and traveled the world to improve his knowledge and experience with eminent surgeons. He received a scholarship at UCLA in basic science, which led to an in vitro research on cellular biology related to different material integration. He then oriented all his professional interest on joint replacement, working with renowed hip surgeons. He is currently the Head of the department of Orthopaedics for ASL Roma 1 and San Filippo Neri Hospital. Author of over 150 publications in national and international journals, he took part in over 300 symposiums and organised several conferences. He served as President of prestigious orthopaedic societies such as SIOT (Italian Society of Orthopaedics and Traumatology) and OTODI (Italian Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons).



Gamal Hosny (Egypt)

Limb Reconstruction in War Injuries

Prof Gamal Ahmed Hosny is a trailblazer in the field of orthopaedic surgery, earning recognition as the pioneer of bone lengthening and deformity correction through the Ilizarov technique in Egypt and the Middle East since 1984. His impact is evident through the establishment and leadership of the Bone Lengthening and Deformity Correction Centre at El-Haram Hospital, where he has successfully overseen over 3500 Ilizarov cases. He has played a crucial role as Head of the Orthopaedic Surgery Department at Benha University Hospital. He has served as the President of the Egyptian Orthopaedic Association, contributing to the advancement of orthopaedic practices in the country. Internationally, he held the position of President of the International ASAMI and Bone Reconstruction Society, showcasing his dedication to shaping the global landscape of orthopaedic care. With a career marked by innovation, leadership, and a relentless pursuit of excellence, Professor Hosny continues to leave an indelible mark on the field of orthopaedic surgery.
